Las Vegas Shopping: The Desert Passage, located in the Aladdin Resort, replicates the scenic
marketplaces of North Africa. Artists pose as statues, surprising
un-informed guests when they suddenly break character and spring to
life, or simply smile at the curious, surprised onlookers.
Some of the 140 specialty stores include Hilo Hattie, Sephora, Ann
Taylor Loft, bebe, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Sur La Table, Swarovski and Z
Gallerie. Aside from a food court that offers Mexican and American
fare, the mall boasts the award-winning Commander's Palace restaurant,
a beautiful eatery to break up a long shopping spree.
For entertainment, the Desert Passage hosts an hourly thunderstorm that
bursts onto the scene in the middle of the mall, close to the food
cour. What begins as a smattering of raindrops over a faux pond becomes
a moving storm replete with cracks of thunder and lightning.
