Your Guide to Sin City Nuptials

Las Vegas Weddings: When it comes to Las Vegas weddings, one could get lost in the overabundance of options. From Elvis-themed ceremonies to Star trek wedding nuptials, Sin City is home to more than 120,000 weddings each year. Let's face it... you could tie the knot without even leaving the confines of your car. But who wants to celebrate their big day in a pay-by-the hour, less than perfect wedding chapel? So, move over Elvis and make way as we present luxury weddings-Las Vegas style.

It comes as no surprise that some of the best wedding chapels in Las Vegas are located within the hotels. The Bellagio Las Vegas features two wedding chapels-the South Chapel, accommodating up to 130 guests, and the East Chapel, seating up to 30 guests. Each chapel can be decorated to suit the couple's specifications. For brides and grooms who practice the Jewish faith, the Bellagio offers a chuppah (wedding canopy), which is available upon request for traditional Jewish wedding ceremonies.

Should couples decide to say "I do" at The Wynn Las Vegas, they will have three wedding venues, referred to as "salons" to choose from. The Lilac Salon accommodates up to 65 guests where as the Lavender Salon seats up to 120 guests. The outdoor venue, the Primrose Court, offers seating for 40 guests or a reception for up to 70 guests. Rental of the courtyard is priced at $1,500 per hour. Couples can select from one of several wedding packages, and can even arrange to be picked up at the airport in a private limousine.

With a plethora of themed hotels, couples don't have to travel across the globe (or even back in time) to experience the wedding of their dreams. From Paris and ancient Rome to the medieval times of dragon slaying and Arabian nights, the Las Vegas strip has it all. For couple's who are looking for the ultimate fantasy wedding, there is no better choice than Mandalay Bay. The hotel's two wedding chapels are built on the shores of an 11-acre tropical lagoon.

For Italian-style nuptials, the Venetian offers its signature gondola weddings. With several options available, couples can decide which package best suites their needs. For an intimate wedding ceremony, the Cerimonia Sul'Aqua sends couples drifting down the hotel's waterway as they recite their wedding vows. For a more formal affair, guests can rent the 2,500-square-foot chapel, which overlooks the pool deck and garden.

Off-Strip Las Vegas Weddings

With the famous Las Vegas strip boasting plenty of wedding options, there are several notable chapels that often get overlooked.

Escape the bright lights with a short 15-minute drive to the Four Seasons Las Vegas. Known for its premium accommodations, it's no surprise that the Las Vegas Four Seasons offers a superior wedding alternative. The resort is ideal for guests looking for a little intimacy as it offers "in-suite weddings." For an amazing view, book the Presidential Suite, the 180 Degree Strip View Suite, the Sunrise/Sunset Suite, or the Las Vegas Strip View Suite. The picturesque backdrop of the lush outdoor gardens ensures quality photos of the wedding party and make for an ideal wedding reception venue.

The JW Marriot offers wedding venues ranging from beautifully appointed indoor ballrooms to the meticulously manicured outdoor gardens. With views of Nevada's Red Rock Canyon, the JW Marriot's outdoor venues comfortably accommodates up to 300 wedding guests. An added advantage to some is the thought of never having to step foot in a casino in order to reach the alter. For an intimate ceremony, the resort offers the Lodge on the Lawn and the regal Suite 6200. But for those looking for something with a little more opulence, the Valencia Terrace, seating up to 1,500 guests, as well as one of the four ballrooms, will surely make for a memorable occasion.

For today's modern bride, The Renaissance Las Vegas, offers a wedding venue featuring a glass enclosed pool patio as well as a reception area. And not to be outdone by its neighbors, The Renaissance Las Vegas also caters to today's luxe-minded bride. With a foyer overlooking the pool, the elegant ballroom, accented in chandelier lighting, provides for a contemporary yet traditional ceremony.

Head to Summerlin, located just 15 minutes from the strip, and escape to Red Rock Resort. For those whose guest list exceeds far beyond immediate family, Red Rock Resort can accommodate a whopping 2,200 attendees. From everything to the ceremony and reception to group luncheons and catered events, Red Rock Resort provides top-of the-line service guaranteed to make the big day unforgettable.

Las Vegas Adventure Weddings

For a nontraditional ceremony, Las Vegas offers several options catering to the unconventional bride and groom. For just a little more than $3,000 couples can charter a helicopter tour and explore Nevada's breathtaking scenery. Enjoy your big day with a Valley of Fire Sunset Helicopter Wedding. Discover nature's finest as you hover over the petrified sand dunes of Fire Canyon, and experience the grandeur of Rainbow Vista and Atlatl Rock.

If flying over the Mojave doesn't appeal to the blushing bride- but jumping out of a plane does- then Vegas Extreme Skydiving is another way to go. After being escorted to the site via limousine service, couple's can decide to say "I do" from the safety of the ground and have professional jumpers deliver the rings. But if you're going to book your ceremony at a skydiving venue, why wouldn't you want to take the plunge?

The company's own "skydiving preacher" will perform his services as you ascend to jump altitude. Share your "I do's" and your first kiss as man and wife as you make your descent over the Las Vegas skyline. Guests and members of the wedding party can join in the festivities, too.

Just 17 miles from the strip lays Lake Las Vegas, a resort community offering a plethora of hotels, spas, and championship golf. What's more, Lake Las Vegas is a popular destination for couples in search of an off-strip gondola wedding. Unlike the Venetian, this 320-acre, privately owned lake provides a more authentic feel as you drift under the warm Vegas sun.

Whether you decide to have your Las Vegas wedding on or off the strip; high above the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam; have your ceremony Web-casted from the famous Little Church of the West; or pull a Britney and make a spur-of the-moment trip to the Little White Wedding Chapel; you will no doubt find what you're looking for in Las Vegas. The possibilities are endless, and with a name like Sin City, what better place to celebrate an engagement? Your maids of honor and best man will thank you.
